almost 2 years into the pandemic (Covid 19)

December 2019. Who could've thought that a flu that emerged from Wuhan, China could cause global catastrophe? The virus spreads throughout the world. Economies collapsed, death toll rises, unemployment became a huge problem. Businesses closed.

Nobody saw this coming that from a place in China, a flu virus much potent and deadly sprung and cause global deaths. Initially-thought to have come from eating bats, but it's a lab child virus.

Numerous lockdowns, health facilities on the brink of collapse due to surges and resurges. New variants mutate. Vaccines on the roll-out.

And now it's August 2021. Vaccines were rolled-out but it's still not quite able to reach herd immunities in some countries. We still live is masked world. We have been bereft of fresh outdoor air to breathe for 1.5 years already. How many birthdays and special occasions we've missed because of prohibited gatherings. Places of worship are likewise closed.

Online jobs and remote arrangements have been made. No work from office yet given that the pandemic is not yet controlled. Travels (international and local) and tourism is not yet permitted. We have such a sad, stressful life during this pandemic. Anyone agree?

It's time everyone flies...but with Cebu Pacific? Not anymore...

I am going to set this one straight...this has been Cebu Pacific's catch phrase for their air transportation services, "Cebu Pacific Air - It's time everyone (every Filipino) flies". I would like to share this horror experiences I encountered with Cebu Pacific, from ticketing up to actual date of departure. So here goes the story: It was January 9, 2008 that I decided to book a flight for 7 PAX to Puerto Princesa. I booked via their Customer Service Hotline Number. I was booked for a roundtrip ticket from MNL - Puerto Princesa and vice versa. I was given a confirmation day on January 12, 2008 on/before 3:00 PM. Ticket fare is P4,515 per head. Came January 12, 2008, a Saturday - I made my way to their ticketing office in Robinson's place, Manila to confirm booking and pay for the tickets. It was a rainy Saturday and I wasn't able to get on time (before 3:00 PM), but fortunately, I was able to have the confirmation time extended upon informing the Ticketing Agen...

Teambuilding in Subic

The week before, I joined my co-employees for a team-building sessions in subic bay freeport zone. It was fun coz it was really the first time that me and my officemates are sheltered in one roof for 4-days and 3-nights. It was fun, wacky, dramatic, and scary. I really like the staff house we lived at. It was cozy, comfortable, but haunted (?). The staff house is an remodeled ranking-officer's home way when subic was still owned by the US Navy, rumors has it that the house a block away from where we stayed was haunted by that ghost of an african-american man. Well, some of the officemates can attest that they experienced it, but not me. I liked the ambiance and environment in subic but truth be told, I wasn't thrilled by it anymore. It still has the same sights as compared to the last time i was there, with not much changes. Well, had been there a number of times years back. And the beach, well, it still is clean but itchy. I dunno what about the seawater there that is itchy. ...

Start 2008, A new Fam Car

My brother has always been the most successful in the family-career wise. He worked in Singaporethe past 9 years and went back at home for good in 2006. Eversince he went back, he was hired by a major global financial institution as a Project Management Consultant - He was there for a year as a consultantand the time came when he was offered regular post by that same financial institution, this happened before last yearends around November 2007. One of the perks he had was a car subsidy from the company- a car of his choicefor which the company will initially shoulder the cost to purchase and 50% split of the cost to be paid by my brother on a fixed rate per month for a couple of years. He opted to get a SUV from Ford, the Ford Escape4x2 Automatic Transmission SUV. I am really not a car enthusiast but I would say it was rather a nice choice. We've had a family car for six years now which is a Mitsubishi Adventure model 2002-the same car that had tried the tests of time with numerous...
